The Chainstory CompostMate XX is a compact 5-liter countertop composting bin that makes it effortless to collect kitchen vegetable scraps, fruit peels, coffee grounds, and eggshells at the point of generation before transferring them to a garden compost heap or municipal organics collection. The outer body is cast from 100% recycled 304 stainless steel, achieving zero-waste material sourcing during manufacturing. The deep-press lid creates an overlapping seal with the body rim that prevents fruit flies from entering the bin between deposits, a critical design requirement for countertop composting where the bin may sit open in a warm kitchen for 24–48 hours. A replaceable activated bamboo charcoal filter disc is housed behind a ventilation grille inside the lid, continuously adsorbing ethylene gas and hydrogen sulfide produced by decomposing organic matter. The filter disc requires replacement every 3 months and is available in subscription packs. The handle-bar across the top allows the entire bin to be carried to the compost heap or outdoor bin with one hand, even when wearing kitchen gloves. The interior surface is fully smooth with a 30-degree taper toward the base, allowing the inner contents to slide out cleanly into a larger compost bin without sticking.
