The Chainstory HiddenStep XIV is designed around a single premium principle: a trash bin should look like furniture. Its 40-liter body is wrapped in a hand-applied white oak veneer over an engineered wood core, creating a surface texture and grain pattern that is indistinguishable from a premium side table or storage cabinet at first glance. The veneer is finished with three coats of water-resistant matt lacquer, providing protection against the moisture and humidity typical of kitchen environments without obscuring the natural wood grain character. A concealed stainless steel foot pedal, color-matched to the veneer base, opens the brushed steel lid silently via a smooth cam-and-rod linkage concealed entirely within the body structure. The inner bucket is a matte-black 36-liter stainless steel liner with a soft inner coating that prevents bags from puncturing against the metal sides. The HiddenStep XIV is designed to coordinate with Chainstory’s NatureLine furniture collection and can be specified with matching dark walnut, pale ash, or smoked oak veneer to suit any interior scheme.
