Each bin diverts approximately 1.4 kg of coastal plastic waste from waterways and prevents it from entering marine ecosystems. Despite the recycled material origin, the manufacturing process applies the same co-injection molding precision as virgin-polymer products, achieving surface quality and dimensional tolerances equivalent to non-recycled alternatives. The 25-liter bin features a wide-mouth round opening and a flat-push swing lid designed for high-frequency casual use in living areas, bedrooms, and student accommodation. The material grain pattern from the recycled plastic feedstock creates a natural marbling effect that is unique to each bin, meaning no two TerraCycle XXVIII bins are visually identical — a deliberate design choice that celebrates the recycled origin rather than concealing it.
